Union of Agricultural Work Committees is a non-profit organization that was established in 1986 in order to protect land from being expropriated by the Government of Israel, and to improve the performance and professionalism of Palestinian farmers. The Union also aims to help Palestinian farmers market their produce and provides agricultural employment opportunities through a framework of cooperation with domestic, Arab, and international agricultural development institutions.

The UAWC has the following priorities: Goals

To ensure that agricultural development be integrated as part of a comprehensive development plan for Palestine

To provide education and training for agricultural developers, with special emphasis on women

To improve the overall economic situation of families engaged in farming through increasing the role of women in farming enterprise

To increase environmental awareness among the Palestinian population

To encourage and facilitate opportunities for small project initiatives

To facilitate export opportunities

To ensure productive cooperation and coordination with other local and international agricultural development organizations
